Glock recently updated the models section of their web site with some newer pictures and links to each pistol. Here's a link to the Glock page with the frame containing the different pistol model pictures split out. I also screen printed the Glock page and saved it as an image. Feel free to save this image and use it.
Here's a Glock 19c Gen4 and 22c Gen3. Of all the C models I'd have to say the 19c has the least impact from the ports. 9mm is pretty mild anyways and the short slide length reduces the leverage the ports have on the gun. Unfortunately I haven't shot the 22c enough to say much - only because I haven't owned .40 rounds in a long time.

Since all other models can be imported Glock manages their production globally. Since the 42 came out, I've not seen as many other models with US stamps but that ...
Safariland advised users that GLOCK beavertail back straps should not be used with any of the following holster/gun combinations as such modifications will impact the locking mechanism of the SLS. HOLSTER MODEL & VARIANTS GUN MODEL. All 6280/6285/6287 models and variants (i.e. 6280VE) All GLOCK Gen4 models (e.g. 17/19, 20/21, 34 etc.)
Rare Glocks. In my never ending quest for Glock knowledge I come across a tidbit or two of rare glocks. Seems like the 1st generation Glock 19 is quite rare with about 12 - 20 being made. I read that one sold for $750 back in 2006. One can think it would be about double that today if you can find one.

A compensated pistol is appropriate for competition use, but there are significant drawbacks to using one for self defense.
It's actually very simple - only the grip texture matters. Original pistols that have an "Orange Peel" or (a.k.a.) "Pebble" textured grip where the texture is consistent all the way around the grip is a Gen1. Glock only imported the G17, 18 and 19 in Gen1 models to the US. The 19 is extremely rare.
Glock could release something similar, lots of folks would self-justify owning a variant of the same gun they may already own. "Live Free or Die" Glock 19 gen4, Walther PPQ NAVY, Walther PPQ 22lr, S&W 638, Mossberg 500, Spikes Tactical ST-22 pistol, Spikes Tactical AR, Dedicated Spikes AR 22lr upper, Savage SV-SR 22lr, Henry lever action 22lr.
No. The part that fits down into grip is smaller on gen 4 models. Yes. The trigger mechanism housing, the part that fits down into the rear of the frame, is not part of the trigger bar, it is connected to the trigger bar by the trigger spring. The trigger mechanism housing is a different part for Gen3 and Gen4 pistols, but the trigger bar is not.

But, the easiest way to reduce the trigger pull weight on a Glock is with a connector swap. Caution is needed though, as there are critical differences between different Glock models and connectors are not universal.
