I find myself paying PSA 5 prices for a PSA 2 or 3 card. Do any of you use this guide when buying already graded cards? When I shop on ebay and auctions have "best offer", I email the seller offering to buy at the SMR value (which is often times way less than they're asking) and they don't ever come down close to the SMR...
I recently picked up a PSA 4 Sov. T206 Frank Chance Batting and thought of this thread. For many years, the guides have always listed the T206 Red Portrait Chance as the tougher of his cards in the set. Personally, I believe the 460 Series only Chance Batting is tougher than the Red Portrait (and his toughest card overall in the set).
I have had a question about the SCD price guide ever since I offered to help with pricing on the T202 set. After you stepped down who ever stepped in asked for help on pricing of various sets. I let him know I was willing to help until I received the letter from him asking pricing with guidlines.

(I am working on the Dockman set PSA and SGC graded, so I would consider trade offers on cards I don't have yet, especially Honus batting, Mathewson, Sam Crawford or Hughie Jennings.) [EDIT: Also interested in trades for nice Red Sox cards I need - still working on T204, T207, M116, E90-1, E107, T3 and more!]
ok so this card brings that whole argument of awesome AUT card with eye-appeal vs crappy 1s that's unaltered and which you prefer...imo that's a pretty hefty price to pay for an AUT card. i don't think the buyer is looking to profit off the card, as it'll never (never say never?) get into a numbered holder, so he must love its presentation.
