I'm looking into buying a reel that should balance my T&T 10'8" 3wt perfectly and think that the Danielsson Dry Fly reel could be a great fit. At $190 USD that is about all I want to spend on a reel where you normally are not casting much if/any of your fly line.

Brand new, never fished. Spooled with 262 yards of 30# Dacron. Comes with the Redington nylon case. 4.5" wide. Currently set up for left hand retrieve, but can be switched over. Would be great for a two handed rod. Weighs 10.8 ounces empty. $125 with shipping and Paypal fees on me. 2) Hardy Uniqua, 3 5/8" shorter brass ribbed reel seat.

My one complaint is that there is no external adjustment knob or lever. You have to open the reel and adjust tension with a couple of hex nuts that the spring sits on.

Willie, I think most reels made today (disc drag) have way more drag capacity than they will ever see a need for, except for saltwater applications. There's little to fear in regard to the palming rim of a fly reel unless you're fishing for king salmon or stronger fish. Some reels, like the Ross Colorados I have, have a very narrow palming rim ...

I purchased a Taylor Anomaly Z 9ft 6wt. and a Series 1 reel in November. The Z is a terrific medium fast action rod. It is super light with a very fast tip recovery. I prefer it over my Scott Radian and would compare it to the Douglas Sky. Matthew Taylor is a site sponsor on North American Fly Fishing Forum.

The T.O. Show. Lots of quality fly fishing gear is made in Asia, but the difference is that the folks at Orvis, Redington, Sage, etc. actually fish and develop their own products. Companies like Maxcatch just cheaply reproduce other brands rods/reels/etc. Nearly everything they make is a replica of another existing product.
