Harrods is a Grade II listed luxury department store on Brompton Road in Knightsbridge, London, England.It was designed by C. W. Knightsbridge is home to many expensive shops, including the department stores Harrods and Harvey Nichols, and flagship stores of many British and international fashion houses, including those of London-based shoe designers Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik, and two Prada stores. The district also has banks that cater to wealthy individuals.
In 1954, Harrods was purchased by House of Fraser, and D H Evans become a trading arm within the Harrods group. A second D H Evans store was added in Wood Green, London in 1980, and the Oxford Street store was refurbished twice between 1982 and 1985. [2] In 2001, the store was rebranded under the House of Fraser name. [3]

As with much of central London during World War II, Selfridges suffered serious damage on a number of occasions during the 57 nights of the London Blitz from 7 September 1940, and in 1941 and 1944.
