Paros (/ ˈ p ɛər ɒ s /; Greek: Πάρος; Venetian: Paro) is a Greek island in the central Aegean Sea. Part of the Cyclades island group, it lies to the west of Naxos, from which it is separated by a channel about 8 kilometres (5 miles) wide. [2] It lies approximately 150 km (93 miles) south-east of Piraeus.

Mykonos (/ ˈ m ɪ k ə n ɒ s,-n oʊ s /, [2] [3] UK also / ˈ m iː k-/; [4] Greek: Μύκονος) is a Greek island, part of the Cyclades, lying between Tinos, Syros, Paros and Naxos.The island has an area of 85.5 square kilometres (33.0 sq mi) and rises to an elevation of 341 metres (1,119 feet) at its highest point.
The port gave to Paros all its strength and made it a great naval power. For a long time, the village followed the historical paths of the rest of the island. Manto Mavrogenous, the heroine of the Greek War of Independence (1821–29), who originated from Mykonos died in Parikia. There is a statue of her in the village.
