Churchill Meadows Community Centre is a community centre and park located in Churchill Meadows, Mississauga, Ontario. It is located on Ninth Line north of Erin Centre Boulevard on the western edge of Mississauga. The site is by relatively flat lands, and contains a protected wooded wetland.
The Meadowvale Community Centre was officially opened in January 1982. The original building was 43,500 square feet, including a pool, fitness centre with racquetball and squash courts, meetings rooms (including a large auditorium) and lobby space. [1] In 2014, the community centre was closed for redevelopment by the City of Mississauga.
The community centre also features a dance studio and two gymnasiums that are also utilized by St. Joan of Arc Students during the school year. The Churchill Meadows Community Centre is known to host a variety of family oriented events throughout the year and is popular among families with young children. [8]
The Meadowvale Community Centre was renovated in July 2014 and re-opened in fall 2016. Meadowvale is the former home to Burlington Twins of the Intercounty Baseball League from 2009-2010 before moving to Burlington. Meadowvale is also home to the minor hockey team the "Meadowvale Hawks", which is part of the Mississauga Hockey League (MHL).
