Hans Gearhart Tanzler, Jr. (March 11, 1927 – July 25, 2013) was an American politician and judge. He served as Mayor of Jacksonville, Florida, from 1967 to 1979.During his administration, the City of Jacksonville consolidated with Duval County, making him the last mayor of the old city government and the first mayor of a consolidated Jacksonville.
George Alfred Winterling (September 1, 1931 – June 21, 2023) was an American television meteorologist and the creator of the "heat index". [citation needed] Chief meteorologist for television station WJXT in Jacksonville, Florida for almost fifty years, [1] Winterling helped develop modern forecasting.
Haskell circa 1990. Haskell was married to Annie Compton from 1960 until their 1974 divorce. In 1974, he married Dianne Tolmich. [4] He had a son and a daughter with Tolmich. [1] Haskell was an Episcopalian and a lifelong liberal Democrat. [5] His daughter Audra announced his death the day it occurred, but did not specify the cause. [4]
