The Church of the Sacred Heart and St Catherine of Alexandria is a Catholic church situated in Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire, England, noted for its remarkable mosaics. Walter Loveridge Hodgkinson was a main benefactor of the church. He built the church in memory of his wife Catherine.
The first municipal building on the site was a medieval structure known as the Exchequer Building completed in 1327. [2] The building was used to regulate the salt trade, over which the crown had a near monopoly, [3] to collect the salt tax from people who had the right to extract salt and to deal with all aspects of the administration of the town. [2]
