Spur 527 is a 0.863-mile (1.389 km) spur route in Midtown Houston in the U.S. state of Texas. The roadway is a freeway spur that feeds traffic from the Southwest Freeway (Interstate 69/U.S. Highway 59) into Downtown Houston. The route is mostly unsigned, except for a sign posted on the southbound side, right after an intersection with Smith Street.
Spur 498 designated on April 29, 1971 from SH 146 to Spur 501 in LaPorte via Wharton Weems Blvd. This was cancelled on July 28, 1977 and mileage was transferred to rerouted Loop 410 (not to be confused with I-410 ), whose alignment on Fairmont Parkway was cancelled and given to the city of LaPorte.
Spur 536 is located in Bexar County. It runs from I-10/I-35/US 87 to I-410/US 281. Spur 536 was designated on February 23, 1978, on the current route along an old routing of US 281, which was rerouted onto I-37. Spur 536 was proposed for decommissioning in 2014 as part of a TxDOT turnback program, but the program was rejected.

SH 35B was a spur of SH 35 designated on November 27, 1922 from Jefferson to the Louisiana state line. [22] On August 21, 1923, this was renumbered as SH 49. An overlap of SH 35 with the Gulf Freeway was constructed in the 1980s. This portion extends from Spur 5 to Dowling Street (now Emancipation Avenue), a distance of about 1.6 miles (2.6 km).
The first use of the Spur 1 designation was in Uvalde County, from US 90 1.5 miles (2.4 km) west of Uvalde south to the Uvalde National Fish Hatchery. [2] On February 12, 1943, an 0.4 mile extension across the hatchery property to a connection with the Uvalde-Eagle Pass County Road was proposed.
