Bloomington School District 87, often shortened to District 87, is a school district in Bloomington, Illinois. The district has six elementary schools, a junior high school, and a high school as well as a vocational school and an early education (PreK) school. Apple Cinemas has signed a lease to operate the former Showcase Cinemas theater at the City Center in White Plains.
The school's colors are purple and gold. The school dropped its mascot, a Native American chief head, in 2001 because it was deemed offensive.
