Shawn Smith (October 28, 1965 – April 3, 2019) [2] was an American singer, songwriter and musician. He was a member of the Seattle-based alternative and indie rock bands Brad, Satchel, Pigeonhed, and The Twilight Singers, and also performed as a solo artist.
Brad was an American rock band that formed in Seattle, Washington in 1992. Their sound was influenced by the wide variety of influences brought by its members, including Stone Gossard of Pearl Jam, Regan Hagar (of Satchel and formerly a member of Malfunkshun), Shawn Smith (a member of Pigeonhed and also of Satchel), and Jeremy Toback.
The quartet began to gain popularity on the Sunset Strip during the early 2000s under the name Metal Shop (soon changed into Metal Skool, then into Steel Panther). Their lineup consisted of lead vocalist Ralph Saenz ("Michael Starr"), guitarist Russ Parrish ("Satchel"), bassist Travis Haley ("Lexxi Foxx") and drummer Darren Leader ("Stix Zadinia"). [2]
