If my wife can pull a 16 Bambi across Canada and the rockies twice, out to the east coast and Newfoundland twice, around Superior and over 30,000 km by herself, using a Ford Edge 3.5 V6, your Maverick is just fine. Go with it and if you don't like it then you have nothing lost, if you want to up grade. but as Noted you will need the F350

The other thing I came across is that Ford V10 & V8 that are put in the vans are detuned compared to the same displacement engines in the F Super Duty Series for 2010. I checked a Ford web site for both the 2010 Super Duty and then one for the E Series Vans. They show the following HP/Torque combos for Super Duties versus the Vans for 2010.

The Ford dealer replaced the brake controller but I keep getting the same message. The connector cable on my 2013 20 ft. Airstream seems to be in excellent shape. I have cleaned the the connectors on both the truck and trailer with an electric spray cleaner. I don't see any bare wire going into the trailer brakes which could cause a possible short.

  7. Anyone Tow with a Ford Transit Van? - Airstream Forums

Our current tow rig is a Ford E350 van with a 7.3L diesel. Rated @ 10k. It's been an incredible tow rig. (16 mpg, 12 mpg towing). We're considering selling it in favor of a new Ford Transit with the Ecoboost motor. Depending on the options, they're rated to tow up to 7100 lbs.

The things that make it better off road (tires, suspension)make it worse for towing. You don’t need a WD hitch, per Ford, but the GVWR of the trailer is within 500 lbs of the max tow rating when not using WD, and you may want to carry passengers or something in the bed, so definitely use WD.

  9. Anyone familiar with a Ford 460? - Airstream Forums

One has the Ford and one has the Chevy. Both are comparably priced and have similar mileage. However, the Ford has a relatively new engine and rebuilt tranny. That leans me toward it, but I had heard the Ford tends to overheat and break manifold studs. Thus the reason for a new engine. But you guys seem to think the Ford is as good as the Chevy.

  11. towing with ford expedition - Airstream Forums

    www.airforums.com/forums/f463/towing-with-ford-expedition-157699.html

I currently have a 2014 ford expedition limited edition suv for a tow vehicle. The ford manual says it can tow 9200 pounds. I really love the new classic which comes in about 7500 dry. My wife and I don't pack a lot of items and normally travel with empty black and gray tanks with maybe a quarter water tank. Can the expedition handle this classic?
