Set in a Prohibition-era St. Louis with a population of anthropomorphic cats, [1] the plot chronicles the fortunes of the Lackadaisy speakeasy after its founder is murdered. It is directed by Fable Siegel, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Butler, and follows the rivalry between the titular Lackadaisy and Marigold gangs: two bootlegging groups who are smuggling alcohol during Prohibition.
