You need to get the Big Guns perk to increase the damage and get the Demolitions Expert perk for the Missile Launcher and maybe the Fat Man. Big Guns, Demolitions Expert, Bloody Mess. Most bang for buck will be from getting Demolitions Expert 3, with the increased area effect. Toughness really isn't good for making yourself less squishy, unless ...

Does anyone actually use the Fat Man regularly? I don’t think anyone dislikes the Fat Man. It’s an awesome weapon in concept and is beautiful when put into action in the right situation. However, I personally don’t think the right situation arises enough to warrant carrying one around at all times, especially considering the weight.
Context: I've been doing a survival save that uses heavy weapons. A missile launcher weighs around 30, 44, or 48 lbs, depending on the barrel, and the fat man weighing around 30 lbs. Each missile weighs 8 lbs and mini nukes weigh 12. I've been carrying around both with 5 missiles and 1 nuke, but I'm sick of the combined carry weight of 106 lbs ...
Ordnance express x3 so mini-nukes don't take up thrice your carry capacity. Bear arms x3 to cut down the weight of your fat man to a laughable 2. Potentially the perk that increases your explosive blast radius for more chaos, but that might also carry a higher risk of blowing yourself up. Idk if there is a guaranteed fat man spawn, but one of ...
The Fat Man was basically just a trump card to get past scripted encounters like the Behemoth in Fallout 3, because the BoS soldiers can get killed before and during that fight, and players who have been following the main quest exclusively won't have the gear necessary to kill it without a mob of BoS mooks also contributing.
TIL that Fallout's "Fat Man" actually existed in real life. In the 1950's, the US developed the Davy Crockett launcher that would fire essentially a mini-nuke with a 10 or 20 ton yield.
2 shot is the only effect worth anything on a fat man or a missile launcher, and here's why: The way the fat man does its damage is unique. It does its damage in 2 stages. The first stage is the impact. If you directly hit an enemy with the mini nuke, it will do some minor damage. The second stage is the explosion, which does the bulk of the ...
The weight of a Fat Man's warhead is unknown; New Vegas tells us that it weighs 1.4kg (3lbs), but NV's ammo weights are all over the shop, so it seems unrealistic for a device of that size and weight. The warhead actually appears to be around half the size of the modified W-54 used in Davy Crockett, and hence, a hundred-foot blast radius ...
Yeah. Fatman shoots one projectile, and Big Boy shoots two. (Big Boy is basically a legendary Fatman with the "Two Shot" prefix. It just that has a unique name.) 4. isperfectlycromulent. • 6 yr. ago. I added the Nuka-Nuke mod to it so now I get a double dose of blue fire!
