Any opinions on what is going to happen with the used boat market in 2024? I know interest rates are higher, and covid / inventory issues are resolving. I still seem to feel like prices on used boats are high and are likely to remain so in 2024. Anyone seeing the market differently?

Yes new boat prices will go up exponentially; Polyester, and vinyl ester resin are both dependent on petroleum prices. The barrel of oil doubles--the barrel of polyester resin will double. At one time I was paying $200 for a barrel (55 gallons) of Polyester resin. Now 5 gallons costs that (maybe more after the most recent oil price raises.).
When buying a used boat from private seller (not through broker) did you guys have a basic written agreement that you made or one that was downloaded off the internet?

My credit union doesn't know the difference between tons and weight of the boat so I got quoted 10% on a 20 year loan of $200K+, due to them thinking its a bigger than 5 tons boat, needless to say I am in negotiations with them right now. 700+ score and $300K+ verifiable income.

I've asked the sellers, never the buyers, I don't know who bought the boat anyway. Held true for the offers I received on my boat. some said that's what nada value says. If you look at what boats are offered for on yachtworld and then there's a big price reduction, it usually sells. I didn't just start looking, I've been looking for years.
