Crystal Beach is a lakefront community in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada.As of 2016, it had a population of 8,524. [2] It was named for the "crystal clear" water conditions present when it was founded on the northeast shore of Lake Erie, across from Buffalo.
Bolivar Peninsula (/ ˈ b ɒ l ɪ v ər / BOL-i-vər) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Galveston County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,769 at the 2020 census. The communities of Port Bolivar, Crystal Beach, Caplen, Gilchrist, and High Island are located on Bolivar Peninsula.
The coaster started its existence at Crystal Beach Park (an amusement park in Fort Erie, Ontario) as a ride known as Cyclone in 1927. Cyclone was known as a fearsome coaster. Its metal support structure was torn down and rebuilt as The Comet in 1947. The ride was saved shortly after the park closed down forever after the 1989 season.
The 40 shacks that were built on the dune, for and by park workers, are now fully equipped summer homes that front directly on the beach. Including the three cottages formerly used for customs officers, these 43 homes now comprise a gated community called the Crystal Beach Hill Association (formerly the Crystal Beach Hill Cottagers Organization).

[3] The majority of the area was damaged by a storm surge of over 20 ft, during the high tide of 4:14 a.m., adding 1.5-2.3 ft more height to the storm tide, plus higher waves on top.
