City Center, formerly known as CentrePointe, [1] is a residential, commercial, and retail building in downtown Lexington, Kentucky that opened in 2020. [2] The plan consists of a 12-story office tower incorporating premium luxury condominiums in its top three floors, two hotels, retail spaces and an underground parking garage.
In 1809 the state library was established. The Secretary of State of Kentucky acted as librarian, and it was their duty to collect materials related to legislation. The Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning is a 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit in Lexington, Kentucky dedicated to literacy and the literary arts, hosted within the library. It provides tutoring and classes, sponsors writers' meetups and conferences, and runs the Kentucky Writers Hall of Fame program.

[1] The Covington Public Library was established in 1898. A donation from Andrew Carnegie gave the city a two-story Carnegie library, completed in 1904. [2]
