The City of Kawartha Lakes (2021 population 79,247 [2]) is a single-tier municipality in Central Ontario, Canada. Though structured as a single-tier municipality, Kawartha Lakes is the size of a typical Ontario county and is mostly rural. It is the second largest single-tier municipality in Ontario by land area (after Greater Sudbury).
The Township of Manvers (area 69,923 acres (283 km 2)) was a municipality in the former Victoria County, now the city of Kawartha Lakes, in the Canadian province of Ontario. History [ edit ]
In summer, boats travelled to Lindsay and Peterborough. The average price of land was $20 per acre (equivalent to $611 in 2023). [4] Bobcaygeon, with a population of about 1,000, was incorporated as a village by a Victoria County by-law in 1876. A group of local businessmen worked for many years to bring a railway into Bobcaygeon.
In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Woodville had a population of 718 living in 275 of its 295 total private dwellings, a change of -13.1% from its 2016 population of 826. With a land area of 2.28 km 2 (0.88 sq mi), it had a population density of 314.9/km 2 (815.6/sq mi) in 2021. [1]

By 1869, Bolsover was a village with a population of 150 in the township of Eldon, County Victoria. It was established on the Talbot River. It was on the line of the proposed Toronto and Nipissing Railway. There was a stagecoach service to Woodville. The average price of land was $5 to $16. [2] [clarification needed]
The Township of Dalton was a municipality located in the northwest corner of the former Victoria County, now a geographic township in the city of Kawartha Lakes, in the Canadian province of Ontario.
