Bombus lucorum, the white-tailed bumblebee, is a species of bumblebee, widespread and common throughout Europe. This name has been widely used for a range of nearly identical-looking or cryptic species of bumblebees .
The first two abdominal segments bear yellow hairs and the remainder of the abdomen is clad in black hairs. The underside of this bee and the legs are black. [ 3 ] Similar species with which it can be confused include Bombus sandersoni (which is slightly smaller), Bombus perplexus , Bombus impatiens and Bombus affinis .

The species are brownish-white from a close up, and look like a wasp. [1] From a distance though, they are yellowish-black coloured, and look like a bumble bee. [2] The species can be found throughout Europe in the Baltic states, North Europe, Central, Southern and Western Europe and across the Palaearctic to Kamchatka, Japan, China and India. [3]
