Allkem Limited, known as Orocobre Limited until 30 November 2021, [1] is an Australian mining company that is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Arcadium Lithium.Allkem's portfolio includes lithium brine operations in Argentina, a hard-rock lithium operation in Australia and a lithium hydroxide conversion facility in Japan.
The sale allowed the company to maintain its original proven and probable reserves of 1.14 million tonnes LCE (Lithium Carbonate Equivalent). The measured and indicated resource as at 2016 was 5.67 million tonnes LCE. [9] [10] The company merged with fellow lithium producer Orocobre in August 2021. The resulting company was branded Allkem.
