The Cabin Run Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge located in Point Pleasant, Plumstead Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The bridge was built in 1871, and is 15 feet (4.6 m) wide and has a length of 82 feet (25 m). The Town truss bridge crosses Cabin Run (creek) downstream from the Loux Covered Bridge. [2] [3]

In the early 1800s, the first covered bridge in the United States was constructed by Timothy Palmer crossing the Schuylkill River at 30th Street in Philadelphia. [2] This new bridge type, wooden with a covered span, was developed because traditional European methods, typically stone bridges, were not appropriate for the harsh Pennsylvania winters.

Cabin Run rises from an unnamed pond to the west of the intersection of Kellers Church Road and Scott Road in Bedminster Township, approximately 1.36 miles (2.19 km) northwest of the village of Plumsteadville and 2.6 miles (4.2 km) southwest of Pipersville. The creek flows generally northeast and includes four unnamed tributaries.
