Zirl Augustus Palmer (1920–1982) was an African-American businessman and activist in Lexington, Kentucky. He opened Palmer's Pharmacy in 1952 in an old building at Fifth and Race Street. He was involved in the city's desegregation and first Black board member of the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees.
The Louisville College of Pharmacy was established in 1870 in Louisville, Kentucky. Like other pharmacy schools of that time, it was a free-standing institution. In 1947, it merged with the University of Kentucky (UK). However, it was not until 1957 that the school was moved from Louisville to Lexington. [2]

New England Compounding Center (NECC) is a compounding pharmacy founded in 1998, along with its sister companies Ameridose, Medical Sales Management Inc, and Alaunus Pharmaceutical LLC. Based in Framingham, Massachusetts , the New England Compounding Center was founded by brothers-in-law Greg Conigliaro and Barry Cadden.
