The Communist Party USA, officially the Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA), [9] is a communist party in the United States which was established in 1919 after a split in the Socialist Party of America following the Russian Revolution.

Joe Sims is the national co-chairman of the Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA), as well as a co-editor of the Party's online newspaper, People's World. His responsibilities in the party grew rapidly, and in 1939 he became the CPUSA leader for the city of Cleveland. [2] Hall ran on the CPUSA ticket for Youngstown councilman and also for governor of Ohio, but received few votes.
