The Mall at Millenia (commonly called The Millenia Mall or Millenia) is an indoor shopping mall located in Orlando, Florida just off of Interstate 4 (exit 78) at Conroy Road near the northern end of International Drive. Opened in 2002, it has over 150 stores. The mall features Macy's, Bloomingdale's, and Neiman Marcus.
Among the stores to move out of downtown Orlando in favor of a suburban location was Sears, which built across from the plaza in 1963. [7] In late 1965 and early 1966, the shopping center held a "birthday sale" honoring the center's tenth year of business, which included mall-wide sales, a petting zoo, and an exhibition on gems and minerals.
The $70 million renovation removed the mall's signature lake and tile-mosaic signage in favor of a modernized theme. On June 4, 2020, JCPenney announced that it would be closing as part of a plan to close 154 stores nationwide. The store closed on October 18, 2020. [11] Stores that have closed at the mall in 2022-2023 include Claire's, Finish Line, Journeys, and T-Mobile. The remaining small chain tenants include Hot Topic, and Spencer's. These are still open.
The Mall at Millenia is a contemporary two-level upscale shopping mall, including the department stores of Bloomingdale's, Macy's, and Neiman Marcus. The mall covers an area of 1.118 million square feet (103,900 m 2). IKEA Orlando opened adjacent to the mall on November 14, 2007.
