The child is seated on a hairy-paw-foot card table by Affleck. The portrait and table are both at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Thomas Affleck (1740–1795) was an 18th-century American cabinetmaker, who specialized in furniture in the Philadelphia Chippendale style.
