The Maid of the Mist is a sightseeing boat tour of Niagara Falls, N.Y., U.S.A., starting and ending on the American side, crossing briefly into Canada during a portion of the trip. James V. Glynn is chairman and chief executive officer of Maid of the Mist Corp. He joined Maid of the Mist in 1950 as a ticket seller and purchased the company in 1971.
The tower, constructed of aluminum, glass, and steel, stands at 282 feet (86 m) [2] with the base at the bottom of the gorge. Visitors enter the tower at the ground level from Niagara Falls State Park. [1] It sees eight million visitors annually. The Maid of the Mist loads at the base of the tower.

The tourist hot spot of Niagara Falls has gained a new photo-op for social distancing Canadian visitors on board ferries taking them into the mist of the falls: crowds of Americans.
The tunnels and platform can be reached by elevators from the street level entrance. The tour is unguided. The two tunnels extend approximately 46 metres (151 ft) behind the waterfall and allow visitors to view water cascading in front of the open cave entrances. The tunnels are approximately 2.4 metres wide (8 ft) and 2 metres tall (7 ft). [1]
