The Vietnamese badminton team was formed following the establishment of the Vietnam Badminton Federation in 1958. In the 1960s, sports clubs in Hanoi and Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City) began to play the sport and started to spread its popularity across the North and the South. [1] The team have never qualified for the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup.
