Arizona State University Polytechnic Campus is a public university in Mesa, Arizona. It is one of four campuses [ 4 ] of Arizona State University . Founded as ASU East, the campus opened in fall 1996 on the former Williams Air Force Base in southeast Mesa.
It replaced a small wooden schoolhouse that was moved from Vulture City, Arizona, in 1895, and cost $1,600 to build. [ 3 ] The Garcia School was used by students until as late as the 1970s and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 1, 1982. [ 4 ]
The first survey conducted in 1867, involved the first 36 miles of Arizona. Up until 1874, this was the epicenter of all surveying in Arizona for property deeds.
