When a musician named Jack (guest star Matthew Lillard) puts his life on the line to save a stranger who fell onto subway tracks, he emerges unscathed, then suddenly collapses, much to his young daughter Daisy's distress. The team works to diagnose his problem as his condition worsens, with only House remaining cynical about his heroism.
House eventually determines that the patient has been eating a primarily vegetarian diet at the hospital, which in conjunction with Refsum disease has been causing his symptoms. House later marries Dominika in his apartment, with the rest of the team, Wilson, and Cuddy present as witnesses. Cuddy breaks down when House recites his vows.

Afterwards, House breaks into Lucas' home, faking a drunken stupor, tells Lucas about how much he wants to be with Cuddy. Cuddy arrives the next morning at House's apartment, lying about how she and Lucas had split up. Later in the episode, House finds out she lied after she did not accept free tickets he offered her.
The episode was written by series creator David Shore and directed by Paris Barclay. [1] [2] As the episode differed from Shore's earlier work, Shore was unsure how the episode would be received, [3] as he stated in an interview with Canadian Jewish News, "it was either the worst thing I had ever written or the best. Honestly I wasn't sure."
