Inkscape often produces unreasonably large SVG files from PDFs, especially if you are only trying to use a small part of the PDF (such as a single vector image or logo on a larger page). In order to reduce the size of the resulting image, it is almost always better to copy and paste the portion of interest into a new Inkscape document rather ...
Inkscape's wiki maintains a large amount of advanced Inkscape-related information. It is recommended that intermediate users make use of the tutorials provided with Inkscape, and that advanced users avail themselves of the information provided in Inkscape community resources. Inkscape's implementation of SVG and CSS standards is incomplete. Most notably, it does not support animation natively. [19] Inkscape has multilingual support, particularly for complex scripts. Formats that used the UniConvertor library are not supported beyond the 1.0 release. A workaround is to have a parallel installation of version 0.92.x. [20]
The workarounds that one can employ are either not to use flowed text (by using the text tool without creating a text field), or convert the text to normal text (by Text-editor or sed-command, or with Inkscape-GUI or with a Inkscape-batch), but to stroke the text using "object to path", since path-text is not recommended and increases file-size.

The Commons SVG renderer renders the DejaVu Sans Condensed font differently from what I get in a) IE and Chrome (with the current version 2.33 of the font installed on my PC), b) Inkscape, and c) the Jarry1250's SVG Check on the toolserver.
Often, the main problem with drawing chemical structures in inkscape is that it does not have a hexagonal matrix built in. One can use the polygon/star tool (make sure that it's set to "polygon", checkbox at top, and that it's set to 6 corners). Hold down "ctrl" while drawing the first hexagon to get the angles straight.
