The "Pilot" TV movie premiered on September 18, 1984 with the series officially starting 10 days later. The show ended on April 26, 1991 after seven seasons.
Fred Dryer stated that this episode was filmed to try to appease fans and the network, who were constantly wanting Hunter and McCall to get together. However, Fred Dryer and Stepfanie Kramer stated they did not want that to happen, because once it did, Hunter would become Hart to Hart. Another memorable episode this season was "Yesterday's Child".
