Bimota is an Italian manufacturer of custom and production motorcycles. It was founded in 1973 in Rimini by Valerio Bianchi, Giuseppe Morri, and Massimo Tamburini . The company name is a portmanteau derived from the first two letters of each of the three founders' surnames: Bianchi, Morri, and Tamburini.

Axel Bassani (born 24 July 1999) is an Italian motorcycle racer who will compete in the Superbike World Championship aboard a Bimota KB998 with Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team for the 2025 season. In 2022 and 2023 he won the trophy for Best Independent rider. [1] He was the FIM Europe Supersport Cup winner in 2016. [2]
After negotiations with DORNA, Kawasaki provided a scaled down team named Hayate Racing Team for the 2009 season. The team was renamed due to limited factory involvement, with Kawasaki providing only one bike with Marco Melandri as the sole rider.
