A typical DP set-up for a PSV is two thrusters located at the bow of the vessel which can be supplemented by two azimuth thrusters or Voith Schneider Propellers located at the stern. All modern PSVs are DP2 rated, meaning that there are two levels of redundancy in the DP system.
The set-up depends on the DP class of the ship. A Class 1 can be relatively simple, whereas the system of a Class 3 ship is quite complex. On Class 2 and 3 ships, all computers and reference systems should be powered through a UPS.
The deck superstructures are located in the front area of the ship. The ship is set up for 50 people: 14 crew members and 36 other people. There are six single cabins and 22 double cabins available on board. [3] Behind the superstructure is an open, 700m² deck. The deck can be loaded with 5.5t / m 2. A total of 1,200t can be transported on deck.
