Thomas Somerville FSA Scot FRSE (9 March 1740 – 16 May 1830) was a Scottish minister in Jedburgh, an antiquarian and an amateur scientist. From 1793 until his death he was King's Chaplain in Scotland. He was the uncle and he also became the father-in-law to the scientist Mary Somerville who was known as "The Rose of Jedburgh".

In 1423 Thomas Somerville, as Lord of Carnwath, came to London as an ambassador to treat for the release of James I of Scotland, who had been captive in England for many years. Somerville was also recorded as a Warden of the Scottish Borders in 1424.
