Rideau Lakes is a township located within Leeds and Grenville United Counties in Eastern Ontario, Canada. The township was incorporated on 1 January 1998 by amalgamating the former townships of North Crosby, South Crosby, Bastard, South Burgess and South Elmsley with the village of Newboro .

Big Rideau Lake is a lake in the municipalities of Tay Valley and Drummond/North Elmsley, Lanark County and Rideau Lakes, United Counties of Leeds and Grenville in Eastern Ontario, Canada. [3] The lake is on the border between the two counties, 72 kilometres (45 mi) to the southwest of Ottawa .
Foley Mountain Conservation Area, the highest conservation area in the Rideau Valley, overlooks Upper Rideau Lake and Westport. [citation needed] It features a variety of wildlife in 325 hectares (800 acres) of woods, ponds and fields. [2] The area also has a sandy beach with changing facilities.
Rideau is an historic township in eastern Ontario, Canada. It is located in the rural parts of the City of Ottawa , in the extreme south. Its eastern boundary is the Rideau River , its namesake.
It lies at the west end of Upper Rideau Lake, [2] at the head of the navigable Rideau Canal system, 100 km (62 mi) southwest of Ottawa. The village of Westport was incorporated as an independent municipality in 1904. Surrounded by the Township of Rideau Lakes, within Leeds County, Westport is Ontario's smallest municipality (by land area).
