Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools (CHCCS) is a school district which educates over 12,000 students (pre-K through 12th grade) in the southeastern part of Orange County, North Carolina. Being near three major universities as well as the Research Triangle Park , it serves one of the best educated populations in the United States.
Founded in 1963, Orange High School educates over 1000 students [2] in the northern half of Orange County–generally, the northern half of Hillsborough and all of the county north of I-85. It was the district's sole high school until Cedar Ridge High School opened in 2002 and the OCS Online Academy opened in 2021.
