Joseph R. Walker (December 13, 1798 – October 27, 1876) was a mountain man and experienced scout.He established the segment of the California Trail, the primary route for the emigrants to the gold fields during the California gold rush, from Fort Hall, Idaho to the Truckee River.
Wade Hampton Walker (November 29, 1923 – December 18, 2013) was an American college football player, coach, and athletics administrator. He played football as a tackle at the University of Oklahoma under head coaches Jim Tatum and Bud Wilkinson. Walker was named an all-conference player all four years and a first-team All-American in 1949.
