St George's is a former church in Great George Street, off Park Street, on the lower slopes of Brandon Hill in Bristol, England. Since 1999 it has been used as a music venue known as St George's Bristol. It was built in the 1820s by Sir Robert Smirke. It is a Grade II* listed building. [1]
It became a civil parish as Bristol St George in 1866, and briefly an urban district from 1894 to 1898. [3] On 1 April 1898 the parish was abolished and merged with Bristol. [ 4 ] In 1891 the parish had a population of 36,718.

Broom Hill, [2] sometimes spelled Broomhill and not to be confused with Broomhill near Fishponds in Frome Vale ward, is an area in Bristol to the north of Brislington. The area is adjacent to the River Avon and crossed by the Great Western Railway , and some sidings, just east of Bristol Temple Meads station .
