Potassium permanganate, however, does not have FDA approved uses and therefore non medical grade potassium permanganate is sometimes used for medical use. Henry Bollmann Condy (8 July 1826 – 24 September 1907) [1] was an English chemist and industrialist best noted for giving his name to the popular 19th and 20th century disinfectants Condy's Crystals and Condy's Fluid. Condy was born in London. [2] His mother inherited a chemical factory in Battersea from a Hungarian chemist named Dr Bollmann.
Potassium permanganate (KMnO 4) is a dark violet colored powder. Its reaction with glycerol (commonly known as glycerin or glycerine) (C 3 H 5 (OH) 3) is highly exothermic, resulting rapidly in a flame, along with the formation of carbon dioxide and water vapour:
The resolution of liquid crystal sensors is in the 0.1 °C (0.2 °F) range. Disposable liquid crystal thermometers have been developed for home and medical use. For example if the thermometer is put onto someone's forehead, it will change colour depending on the temperature of the person's body. There are two stages in the liquid crystals:
A large fraction of the chemical elements that occur naturally on the Earth's surface are essential to the structure and metabolism of living things. Four of these elements (hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen) are essential to every living thing and collectively make up 99% of the mass of protoplasm. [1]

Iodine is a chemical element with many uses in medicine, depending on the form. Elemental iodine and iodophors are topical antiseptics. [2] Iodine, in non-elemental form, functions as an essential nutrient in human biology (see iodine in biology). [3] Organic compounds containing iodine are also useful iodinated contrast agents in X-ray imaging ...
