Full Sail is the third album by singer-songwriter duo Loggins and Messina, released in 1973. It showed the versatility of the duo, with everything from 1950s retro to island-style to soft ballads. The single "My Music" charted at No. 16, and the follow-up, "Watching the River Run", made it to No. 71.

Heart has covered "River" during their live acoustic sets over the years. The album title derives from the song count, with Thompson explaining that "there are 13 songs on the record, and each one is like a river. Some flow faster than others". [8] This is illustrated further by the album's cover art which features a map by Thompson "showing the individual songs on the album flowing into a central lake". [9]
