That next year Wheaton Community was renamed Wheaton Central when the district split. In 1965 Glenbard East left to join the Des Plaines Valley League and was replaced by St. Charles High School . Naperville Community and Wheaton Central left in 1975 to join the newly formed DuPage Valley Conference .

Naperville Community Unit School District 203 serves central and northern Naperville as well as portions of the neighboring Lisle and Bolingbrook. [1] The oldest District 203 building still in use is Ellsworth Elementary, constructed in 1928, [2] while the newest is the Ann Reid Early Childhood Center, opened in 2010. [3]
Naperville High school was established in 1916. [6] The oldest part of the current building, known by some as the "3-Story Wing," was constructed in 1950. [7] The current Naperville Central building has received building additions in 1955, 1963, 1968, 1987, 1992 and 2009.
The DuPage Valley Conference was formed prior to the 1975–76 school year. Its charter members were Glenbard North High School, Glenbard South High School, Naperville Central High School, Naperville North High School, West Chicago Community High School, Wheaton Central High School, Wheaton North High School, and Wheaton Warrenville High School.
The district began as a Kindergarten-8th Grade (K-8) district, with its students attending Naperville Central High School for 9th Grade-12th Grade until Waubonsie Valley High School was constructed for District 204 and opened in 1975. The district opened eleven buildings during the 1990s, at all levels of primary and secondary education.
One of the companies contracted for the school's construction was Commercial Mechanical Inc (CMI) from Dunlap, Illinois. The school was designed by the Chicago office of DLR Group. The construction manager was Turner Construction Company. Construction began on May 7, 2008. It began with an extensive earth moving operation.
The conference was established in 2016 with six former members of the North Suburban Conference (Antioch, Grant, Lakes, North Chicago, Round Lake, and Wauconda) and two former members of the Fox Valley Conference (Grayslake Central and Grayslake North). As the name implies, all members of the conference are located in Lake County.
