The festival hosts national, international and local artists [1] and is run across various venues throughout the city of Bristol, including Bristol Old Vic, Arnolfini, Tobacco Factory Theatre, Circomedia and others. Mayfest has received funding from Arts Council England through Grants for Arts. It is co-produced by Bristol Old Vic.
The Downs Festival is a (usually) two day arts festival which takes place annually on the Downs in Bristol, England. The first event was held on September 4, 2016 with the headliner being the Bristol-based trip-hop band Massive Attack. Over the years, it has hosted the likes of Elbow, Groove Armada, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and IDLES.

These events take place in key venues in Bristol, such as The Bristol Old Vic, The Bristol Beacon, and The Watershed. Since 2009, the festival has awarded the Aardman Slapstick Awards, which were developed in 2008.
