Canvas GFX's origins date back to 1986. The original idea for Canvas came from Jorge Miranda, Manuel Menendez, and Joaquin DeSoto, the founders of Deneba Systems Inc. of Miami Florida, for Apple's Macintosh computers—part of the wave of programs that made the desktop publishing revolution.
Canvas is used by schools, allowing students to submit assignments, answer discussions, access and upload media using Canvas Studio, and retrieve files from their Google Drive after linking Canvas with their Google Account. Like students, Canvas allows teachers to create assignments, discussions, pages, and modules.
The software has most notably been used by BT and TalkTalk for use on their subscription services BT TV, Plusnet TV, and TalkTalk TV.
