Abbye "Pudgy" Stockton, née Eville (August 11, 1917 – June 26, 2006), was an American professional strongwoman and forerunner of present-day female bodybuilders, who became famous through her involvement with Muscle Beach in the 1940s.
One day, a local promoter named Butch Dennis was in her gym and, after sizing her up, suggested she enter a competition he was hosting in 8 weeks, the Long Beach Muscle Classic. Her model for her physique was a combination of Lenda Murray and Bev Francis. She won the contest, the 1994 Long Beach Muscle Classic.
In 1997, along with her then-husband and trainer Robert Masino, she founded Muscle Elegance, a magazine that features erotic pictorials of female bodybuilders and where Denise is featured as the main model. The magazine also produces a line of videos and the website Muscle Pinups.
