The album received positive reviews from critics. Nair of Music Aloud gave 4 out of 5 stars and wrote "A R Rahman delivers another winner with Irshad Kamil". [21] Monika Rawal Kukreja of Hindustan Times called the music as "pure gold" and added "Each song sets a different mood, the essence of which you want to take back home". [22]

Aniket Joshi of Planet Bollywood gave the album nine-and-a-half stars and stated that it is "such a [rare] album" which has "perfectly-sung songs". The critic felt that the song "Dola Re Dola" is "a highlight on screen" as the "singing was very good", and compared it to the song "Nimbooda Nimbooda" from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. [20]
Shankar Mahadevan (3 March 1967) is an Indian playback singer and music composer. Best known for his work in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Marathi films. He has also recorded songs for many non-film albums, teliseries, devotionals and classical. Shankar shot to fame through his 1998 released private album Breathless. [1]
