Heaven & Hell was a short-lived British-American heavy metal supergroup active from 2006 to 2010, featuring guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, vocalist Ronnie James Dio and drummer Vinny Appice. The four members of Heaven & Hell recorded and toured together as Black Sabbath from 1980 to 1982 and from 1991

Appice rejoined his Black Sabbath bandmates Ronnie James Dio, Geezer Butler, and Tony Iommi in 2006 as Heaven & Hell, touring and releasing one studio album, The Devil You Know, before Dio's death in 2010. Appice with Heaven & Hell in 2007. In 2006 he recorded the CD Dinosaurs, together with Carl Sentance, Carlos Cavazo and Jeff Pilson.
Around the release of the band's debut Holy Diver in May 1983, Claude Schnell joined as Dio's first full-time keyboardist. [4] After two more studio albums – The Last in Line and Sacred Heart – as well as live release Intermission, Campbell left the band in March 1986. The Heaven & Hell guys also mixed and mastered live albums like the Hammersmith one that was released in 2007 under the Sabbath name, but usually membership of a band requires more than that (Slash worked on Guns N' Roses' live album in 2009, and he definitely was not in GN'R at that point, for instance).
