The first episode of Wentworth attracted 244,000 viewers, making it the most watched Australian drama series premiere in Foxtel history. [1] The complete first season was released on DVD and Blu-ray in Australia on 18 November 2013.
Wentworth is an Australian television drama series. It was first broadcast on SoHo on 1 May 2013, and it concluded on Fox Showcase with its 100th episode on 26 October 2021. The series serves as a contemporary reimagining of Prisoner , which ran on Network Ten from 1979 to 1986.
Lara Radulovich and David Hannam developed Wentworth from Reg Watson's original concept. The series is set in the modern day and begins with Bea Smith's (Danielle Cormack) early days in prison. During the course of the series, 100 episodes of Wentworth aired over eight seasons, between 1 May 2013 and 26 October 2021.
Thornton appeared in the original Prisoner television series as Roslyn Coulson, making her the second actress to star in both Prisoner and Wentworth. [2] The character was partly inspired by Prisoner's Sonia Stevens, who was played by Tina Bursill. [2] Thornton's Sonia is "a wealthy but self-made dynamo behind a cosmetics empire."

"No Place Like Home" is the first episode of the Australian TV series Wentworth.
