Orochimaru (大蛇丸) is a fictional character from Naruto, a manga series created by Masashi Kishimoto.Orochimaru is a former ninja from the village of Konohagakure who is well known for work in wars which earned him the title of Sannin and becomes a terrorist as a means to cheat death, and built his own ninja village Otogakure.
During a ninja examination meant to improve their ranks, Team 7 encounters Orochimaru, an exile from Konohagakure who afflicts Sasuke with a Cursed Seal that contains a fragment of Orochimaru's consciousness, which increases Sasuke's physical abilities, but makes him cruel and sadistic.
Sasuke agrees to return to Konoha, but denies being comrades with the others again, intent on changing how the village works. Naruto and Sasuke fight on Orochimaru's old hide out, arguing about the past, Sasuke accusing Naruto of advancing too fast, leaving him behind. After the final fight, Naruto and Sasuke make up and return to Konoha.
Sasuke leaves the village alongside the Sound Four to go to Orochimaru, with Naruto joining a retrieval team composed of its leader Shikamaru, his teammate Choji, Kiba, and Neji. But Jiraiya and Gamabunta arrive to free Naruto before Orochimaru takes the two out. Things appeared hopeless until Naruto states that he will not give in until he saves Sasuke, activating a program that Itachi secretly inserted into Mecha-Naruto. Now aiding Naruto, Mecha-Naruto turns on Orochimaru before his creator bisects him in half.
Tsunade hears of the Three-Tails from Pakkun, and remarks that it hasn’t been heard of since the last war. Tsunade assembles Shizune, Ino, Tenten and Lee to join the others, and go and seal the Three-Tails before the Akatsuki do. Naruto and Sakura talk about the home that people should return to before Naruto heads off to find Yūkimaru.
As Naruto starts getting frustrated with his lack of progress, Sasuke's Cursed Seal finally reaches its Second State, allowing him to exit his coffin and leaving Naruto to fight against Kimimaro. Kimimaro prevents Naruto from going after him, though the arrival of the newly recovered Rock Lee forces him to let Naruto go.
At the same time, Jūgo and Suigetsu reach out of Orochimaru’s hideouts while searching for Sasuke, Jūgo asking Suigetsu of his reasons for joining Team Taka before he suddenly goes berserk. Suigetsu manages to subdue Jūgo, whose rampage reveals a secret room where they find a scroll containing important information.
