Growing up, I always checked the mailbox hoping the Field and Stream or Outdoor Life magazine arrived. Now they are websites and the articles are mostly “Top 5 Fishing Knots” or “Best Days to Hunt the Rut”. I miss reading David Petzal, Ed Nickens, Keith McCafferty, Bill Heavey…etc.

You're far better off to not load the magazines to full capacity. Reduce them by 2-3 rounds. Also, I strongly urge you to completely replace the springs every other year. Mags are cheap and can be purchased from the factory. My agency has always recommended not leaving the mags loaded for extended periods of time!
I tried the usual things you read in 1911 forums online, like changing out the magazines and polishing the feed ramp, but it continued to jam on a regular basis. Last weekend I got so angry that I felt like throwing it downrange and leaving it to be swept up with the empties and other trash at Bullseye Range in Cumming.
If you are not planning your fishing around the new moon phase you are really missing out on some fantastic fishing.I have had some phenominal trips when using the moon phase and fishing during the major feeding times. I fish one particular body of water mentioned alot on here that you had better be fishing at 12:00 pm.
$75 for all 6 of those high-capacity duckbill magazines. Some people hate them. I do. I tried them and found them awkward to use. I prefer the original design of a load-from-top-with-stripper-clips, though I'd prefer that the factory internal magazine hold 20 rounds, not just 10. $75 for the 500 rounds of ammo.
Tikka magazines are designed so any cartridge that falls within the specified OAL (over all length) for that cartridge will fit. Regardless of bullet weight. The extra length will be inside the case (reducing powder capacity) not adding length to the cartridge.
I get a few magazines but really enjoy G&A. Latest issue has Caldwell’s version of the Labradar… which is great, except everyone is dumping their radar to get the Garmin now. I guess the selling point is ‘true BC’ - hopefully it works.
A sturdy holster, three magazines, some sort of cover garment and you are good to go. Safety is most important. As long as you can keep the muzzle down range and your finger off the trigger except when actually shooting, you will not have a problem. Depending on where you live there is probably a match somewhere close.
