The club then opened La Madera Ski Area in 1936 with a 1,500 foot (460 m) rope tow. Two trips on the rope tow cost 50 cents. The following year, a second rope tow was installed to Panoramic Point, and a ski lodge, built with the help of members of the CCC , was constructed.
